* Vine Linux 2.5 beta 1 available (2002/03/15)

The long-awaited next stable release 2.5 is almost there: the "beta 1" release has been available. We would be happy to have your test reports, bug reports , patches to fix problems etc. Please send your comments to either VineSeed ML or Vine-tester ML. We are planning to release the final 2.5 stable release next month.

* Call for help - Vine Linux "Security Watch Team" (2001/08/22)

We are asking for volunteers to check and notify security/bugfix information on Vine Linux. If you are eager to share security info in order for quick release of security fixes for VineSeed and Vine Linux 2.x, please contact us at Vine@vinelinux.org.

* Vine Linux 2.1.5 released(2001/03/24) Vine Linux 2.1.5, a bugfix release of Vine Linux 2.1, has been released and available on ftp mirror sites. Intel, PowerPC (pmac), Sparc edition are available (Alpha edition is also available as a "Technology Preview" release). Vine Linux 2.1.5 now integrates rpm-compatible version of apt, an supreme package management system derived from Debian GNU/Linux. You can now easily install/delete/upgrade packages with apt. But please note that the upgrade with apt is supported ONLY from 2.1.5 to newer versions: we have not comfirmed to successfully upgrade to 2.1.5 from previous versions with apt.
