miBoot について

NewWorld ROM 以前の PowerMac で Linux は使いたいが Mac OS を排除したい 場合に，この miBoot (図 29) を使います．

NewWorld ROM 以前の Macintosh は起動直後， ハードディスクから「Finder」と「System」が含まれるシステムフォルダを 探しだし，その System ファイルを使って起動を始めます． その原理を利用して，偽の「System」ファイル (miBoot) と ダミーの「Finder」を置いておくことで，Linux を起動させるというのが miBoot の仕組みです．
